UnionTech Opens a Stereolithography Demonstration Center in the Chicago
UnionTech has announced the opening of a Stereolithography (SL) Demonstration Center in the Chicago area.
The new facility has been designed and developed to enable potential suitors year-round and hands-on access to 3D printing equipment, to better understand how the technology could be implemented within their business. They can evaluate the potential of UnionTech’s line of production SL machines, which includes the Commercial PILOT series and Industrial RSPRO portfolio.

“The centre’s purpose is to provide a convenient venue for a first-hand, close-up examination and hands-on evaluation of the UnionTech ‘fresh dimensions’ approach to stereolithography, open sourced materials and software options, and robust ‘keep it simple and solid’ engineering that provides cost-effectiveness with excellent part aesthetics,” commented Jim Reitz, General Manager of UnionTech, Inc.
It was opened in the second quarter of 2018, and is located in St. Charles, Illinois. UnionTech is inviting interested parties to cast their eye over the Pilot 250, Pilot 450, RSPro 600 and RSPro 800 machines, which will be used to benchmark part builds. The company will demonstrate not only how its machines build parts, but also how they are designed in Somos Evolve, Element and WaterShed platforms.
Staff at the facility will discuss potential applications, ranging from prototypes, to investment casting, to tooling, to metal clad composites. Visitors will also be taken through the management of quality control of the equipment, as well as warehouse and logistical support.
UnionTech is one of the leading Chinese players in the additive manufacturing market, and has since expanded its presence around the world with offices in Germany, Russia, and North America. It prides itself on delivering cost-effective machines capable of producing quality parts, and believes in open sourced material and software options to give its user more freedom to create.
