Delta Equipement and Solvay to Develop Additive Manufacturing Solutions

Delta Equipement has announced that it will partner with Solvay to offer advanced additive manufacturing (AM) solutions for demanding high-performance applications.

Key to this partnership, Solvay will supply Radel polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) and KetaSpire polyetheretherketone (PEEK) filaments, including carbon fibre filled PEEK grades, for use on Delta Equipement’s Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) systems.

“Solvay recently introduced its first AM-ready high-performance polymer materials for use with innovative 3D printing techniques such as FFF,” says Christophe Schramm, Business Manager AM for Solvay’s Specialty Polymers GBU. “Partnerships such as the one with Delta Equipement are part of our strategy to develop and become a worldwide leading supplier of advanced AM-ready polymer solutions for 3D printing technologies. Together, we will work to deliver next generation processes and solutions combining Delta Equipement’s custom-tailored 3D printing knowledge with Solvay’s expertise in high-performance filaments.”

Designers worldwide are adopting AM technologies such as FFF, which offers significant benefits in terms of manufacturing flexibility and cost reduction. At the same time, high-performance specialty polymer filaments open new opportunities for applications with demanding mechanical and thermal requirements that exceed the capabilities of existing commodity filaments. There is a growing demand for comprehensive equipment, processing and material expertise to leverage this potential.

“3D printing is a disruptive technology that requires new system solutions to exploit its full innovation potential,” adds Yves Daunas, Founder and President of Delta Equipement, a French supplier of automation, robotics and additive manufacturing technology. “Based on our extensive experience in motion control and robotics, we work with our customers across many application markets to develop higher-performing parts. Solvay’s new offering of PEEK and PPSU filaments and strong materials know-how have an ideal fit in our on-going strategy.”
